Effect of Row Number in Longitudinal Vortex Generator on Gas-Solid Two Phase Flow in Three Dimensional Spouted Bed

Abstract：The gas-solid mixing behaviors of a three dimensional cylindrical spouted bed with longitudinal vortex generators were studied using two-fluid model. The row number effects (one~three rows) in longitudinal vortex generator on spouted bed hydrodynamics were studied through numerical simulation. The simulation results suggest that longitudinal vortices can effectively increase particle volume fraction near the annulus region in the spouted bed, and enable particle distribute more uniformly in the spouted bed along the radial direction. Especially, two rows of longitudinal vortex generators enable particle volume fraction more uniformly distributes along the radial direction compared with that of one or three rows. Longitudinal vortex can also enhance the radial velocity of particles in the spouted bed, strengthen the radial mixing of gas phase and particles, and thus effectively reduce the granular temperature.
