赤泥在催化工业领域中的应用

Application of Red Mud in Different Catalysis Processes

摘要: 赤泥是炼铝工业中产生的固体废渣,含有大量的碱金属和过渡金属,具有强碱性和放射性,对自然环境有很大危害。对赤泥进行处理和合理利用是目前氧化铝工业面临的巨大挑战,也是研究的热点。将赤泥应用到催化工业体系不仅能解决赤泥的污染问题,同时还能降低催化剂的制备成本。赤泥中含有大量的金属氧化物(Al2O3、Fe2O3、TiO2等),且具有较高的比表面积、抗烧结能力、抗中毒性以及低廉的价格,可以作为催化剂和催化剂载体应用到多种非均相催化反应体系,如:废水净化、废气净化、催化裂解、催化加氢、生物燃料合成、催化脱氯脱硫等。详细讨论了赤泥在催化剂和催化剂载体中的应用,并对赤泥催化剂体系的发展方向进行了展望。

Abstract: Red mud is solid waste residue in aluminum production industry. It contains large amount of alkali metals and transition metals, which are very caustic and radioactive, and thus have significant negative impact on environments. How to properly dispose or use the red mud are huge challenges and also a hot research topic for alumina industry. If red mud can be properly used in catalysis process, not only can it solve the contamination issues, but also can reduce the cost of catalyst preparation. The cheap red mud contains a lot of metal oxides (e.g, Al2O3、Fe2O3、TiO2 etc), and has large surface area, good sintering and poison resistance capability. Therefore, red mud can be used as catalysts or catalyst carriers in various catalysis processes, such as effluent water and gas purification, catalytic cracking, hydrogenation, biofuels synthesis, dechlorization and desulfurization, etc. This paper reviewed the application of red mud as catalysts or catalyst carriers, and also discussed the development of red mud catalysis research.
